Disney Does Good – Environmentally

Not only is Disneyland the Happiest Place on Earth, but Disney is also working hard to be environmentally friendly too!   Disney, as a company, has specific goals when it comes to the helping the environment, but there are some great things happening in Florida at Disney World and elsewhere that we have uncovered and would like to share with you.

Nearly one-third of the Walt Disney World property in Florida is dedicated to wildlife conservation.

Garbage.  Disney has committed to sending zero waste to landfills from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

Education.  Backstage at the Disneyland Florida Resort, a winning class from the in-school edition of Friends for Change participates in a trash sorting challenge, to see who can sort recyclable materials the fastest.

Innovation.  Disney reduces environmental impact through innovations, such as the trains at Disneyland Resort which run on biodiesel made with cooking oil from the resort’s restaurants and hotels.

Lending a Hand. Disney employees get involved in many local community activities to give back to the environment.  In Port Canaveral, Florida, Disney employees gave back to help the environment by cleaning trash in the area.

So now you make your next Disneyland trip knowing that you are supporting a company who is also doing their part for your children’s future here on earth.
